Introduction

Project management involves managing projects from conception to completion, effectively using resources to complete a project on time, within budget and to the desired scope. As the scope of projects continues to grow in complexity, there is an increased need for effective project planning and management. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has the potential to significantly improve project performance, enabling data-driven decision making and automated processes. This paper examines the potential of AI-based problem solving to optimize project performance, including AI-based project management tools, their features and benefits.

Literature Review

Recent advances in AI have enabled machines to learn; identify patterns and predictive insight; make decisions; and automate processes. AI-based problem solving involves the use of machines to identify and solve problems in order to optimize project performance. AI-enabled problem solving can be applied to a variety of project management activities, including project planning, scheduling, cost estimation and resource allocation.

AI-based Decision Making

AI can be used to improve decision making in project management by providing data-driven recommendations. AI-enabled decision making can be applied across the project life cycle, from project initiation and planning through to project execution and monitoring. AI-based recommendations can identify opportunities to improve project performance, reduce risk and increase efficiency.

AI-Based Automation

AI-enabled automation can streamline project management tasks, reducing manual labor and freeing up resources for more complex tasks. AI-based automation can be applied to a range of activities, from scheduling and task assignment to resource allocation and cost estimation. Automated processes can also improve accuracy, reduce errors, and speed up the project management process.

AI-based Project Management Tools

AI-based project management tools can empower teams to use data-driven insights to improve project performance. Such tools provide features such as automated task assignment, project scheduling, resource optimization and cost estimation. AI-based project management tools can also identify potential risks and help teams to plan and manage complex projects.

Findings

AI-based problem solving can significantly improve project performance by providing data-driven insights, automating processes and providing project teams with the tools and insights needed to manage complex projects. AI-based decision making and automated processes can streamline tasks, reduce manual labor and reduce errors. AI-based project management tools can provide features such as automated task assignment, project scheduling, resource optimization and cost estimation.
